At Fátima, the Blessed Virgin Mary confirmed Purgatory is a real place and that sinners spend time there, even if they are ultimately destined for Heaven. 

But first we must contemplate the answer the Blessed Virgin Mary gave to Blessed Lúcia’s question whether her 18- or 19- year old acquaintance Amelia was in heaven. 

The BV Mary responded: “She will be in Purgatory until the end of time.” 

Wow.  A 19-year old living in Portugal during the dark days of the First World War – before TV, the internet, or anything else – was destined for Purgatory until time on Earth ended.  Thank goodness she believed in GOD, otherwise she’d be in Hell.  For real.  It is probably safe to say her sins were less than our own. 

What has her stay in Purgatory been like? For the actual Purgatory experience, one must consider the words of the French nun confined in Purgatory, who was permitted by GOD to describe her experience.
